SES SIRIUS AB owns and operates the SIRIUS satellite system in 5°E.
The new satellite SIRIUS 4 (replacing SIRIUS 2 and 3) is used for digital Direct-To-Home (DTH) TV and radio transmissions, as well as broadband services. SIRIUS 4 is also used for VSAT Services and occasional transmissions.
SIRIUS 4 offers pan-European DTH coverage and the signals can be received with small dishes, from 60 cm in most parts of Europe.
The SIRIUS satellite system is operated from the SIRIUS control station at the Esrange space centre in the north of Sweden.
